Your Opinion, Please

Hey! So I'm thinking about making some changes around ye olde blog, and I was considering branching off into more general topics (my life, Les Mis, what ever is capturing my fancy at any given time) instead of strictly LOTR.

I haven't done this yet because I feared that I would slowly forget how wonderful LOTR is if I don't spend some time writing about it each day, but lately I've felt uninspired. Maybe the book marathon will regenerate my interest...

Don't worry, I am still a LOTR-superfan and that will always be a part of my blog, but, my dear readers, do you think I should branch off?

Comment below, friends!

  1. Do branch out! If there's anything I've learned from blogging, it's that sticking to only one area gets tedious.

Side note: I love your header!

  2. I think it's fine if you branch out! I'd be interested to hear more about your life, family, and other interests. :) You could do book and movie reviews of other related stories and whatnot, and do a LOTR based post once a week, or every few days or something.

I'm actually surprised that you've managed to keep churning out interesting LOTR posts for this long. You're a very dedicated and creative person. :)

    1. Alright, great. I figured it would be more personable that way. I like your idea of doing a LOTR post on a regular schedule, but not necessarily every day.

      Aw, thank you :D

  4. Do! I really like how comprehensive your blog is and that it's so LotR-focused, but I also think it'd be very cool for you to branch out and talk about non-Tolkien stuff from time to time.

I agree with Emmarayn Redding that it might be a good idea to have scheduled or regular LotR-themed posts. But of course you can do whatever you want! :D

    By the way, two things:

1). I'm half an hour or so away from finishing the guest post. I'd hoped to finish it earlier in the month, but right now I'm just going for sending it in before the 20th. I'm sorry about that! Oh, and would you like me to pick out pictures to spice it up or were you going to do that?

2). I'm actually reconsidering the book marathon. I know I said I probably wouldn't do it, but it looks so enticing! Would it be okay if I tailor it down to better suit my abilities and schedule? :) It does sound super fun. And I need to read The Hobbit for school anyway; I was going to read Lord of the Rings because it's a fall-ish sort of book before you mentioned the marathon; and I've been putting off the Silmarillion for far too long. So yeah, I might do it. :D

    1. Oh and originally I was going to write an analysis of the movies from both The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies, but I decided to stick with just the former. Is that okay?

    2. Thanks for your input!

Oh goodie, I can't wait to read it; you can pick whatever pictures you'd like.

Fantastic! You can make any adjustments you want--I know some people who are just doing The Silmarillion or just doing The Lord of the Rings so it's really whatever works for you.

That sounds like a great topic :)

  5. Well, it is your blog, so you can do whatever you want. :)

But I agree with the others that branching out might be good and give you some more inspiration or enthusiasm. I also love Les Mis...

    1. Thanks for your advice! I will definitely have regular Tolkien posts (and I'm sure LOTR will find a way into my other posts as well ;).
